WE Tech Solutions officially opens its’ first office in Japan under the name WE Tech Solutions KK, located in the port city of Kobe. This new office represents an important step in line with the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Asia and building closer connections in the Japanese maritime industry. By establishing a local base in Japan – one of the most important markets in the global shipping industries -, the company initially focuses on providing field service to existing projects in Japan, while gradually building up a local organization capable of offering comprehensive technical support in the near future. Through these efforts, the company aims to provide stable and timely service to Japanese customers and partners on the ground.

To lead this new chapter, Östen Lindell, in addition to his current role as Director, Business Development Asia, has been appointed as Acting General Manager at WE Tech Solutions KK. With extensive experience in the maritime industry and deep familiarity with the Asia-Pacific market, Lindell will oversee local operations, business development, and partner engagement.

“Having a dedicated team in Japan allows us to work side by side with shipyards and partners, ensuring that our solutions are tailored to the needs of our customers in this specific market”, Lindell explains.

In close cooperation with Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Orient Marine Co., Ltd. and The China & Japan Marine Industries Ltd., WE Tech Solutions will continue to pursue growth in the Japanese market and deliver advanced, energy-efficient technologies that support zero-emission shipping.

“We look forward to strengthening our relationships and continuing to deliver high-value solutions to our customers”, Olli-Pekka Aalto, Chief Sales & Sourcing Officer, says. “This is an important milestone on our journey”.
