  • Manage power flow and electrical loads according to available capacity, operational priorities and vessel demand.
  • Select and transition between energy sources based on efficiency, availability and the current operating mode.
  • Protect essential vessel functions by prioritising critical loads and limiting power where necessary.
  • Support stable vessel operation through voltage and frequency control, load sharing and coordinated propulsion power

WE Control

WE Control integrates battery energy storage systems, flywheels and other storage technologies into the vessel’s wider power system. Smart control strategies determine when energy should be stored, supplied or used alongside generator sets, shore power and other available sources.

 

This coordinated use of energy supports fuel efficiency, emission reduction and greater operational flexibility. WE Control can also smooth electrical loads to improve system stability and coordinate propulsion demand with the vessel’s available power.

During fault conditions, the system intelligently manages the remaining power to protect essential functions and support continued propulsion capability.

WE Control is designed to manage the complete power-management process rather than isolated pieces of equipment.

Generator Management

Automatic control of generator starting, stopping, synchronisation, connection, loading, balancing and unloading helps maintain the required power supply without unnecessary operator intervention. Variable-speed generators can also be managed as part of the overall system.

Available electrical capacity is coordinated with vessel demand. Heavy consumers can be controlled through power limitation, while intelligent feeder management protects critical loads during demanding operating conditions.

The system selects and coordinates available power producers according to priority, efficiency, availability and the vessel’s operating conditions. It can also manage shore-power connections and seamless power transfer between energy sources.

Failure-tolerant groups, adaptive system reconfiguration and automatic power restoration help protect vessel operations. Critical loads are prioritised during challenging situations to minimise blackout risk and support continued operation.
