SEOUL / YEONGAM, South Korea — VINSSEN Co., Ltd. (CEO Chilhan Lee), a leading Korean innovator in eco-friendly marine technology, announced today that it has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WE Tech Solutions Oy (CEO Henri Kinnunen), a renowned Finnish provider of marine electrification solutions. Executed on August 23, 2026, the agreement establishes a framework for joint promotion, sales, and delivery of integrated marine electrification projects combining VINSSEN’s hydrogen fuel cell and battery systems with WE Tech’s power conversion and control solutions.

Strategic Integration of Modular Fuel Cells & Advanced Power Control
Under the MoU, VINSSEN will serve as the preferred and non-exclusive supplier of type-approved marine fuel cell and battery power packs. Supplied as a modular “black box” sub-system with clearly defined interfaces and PLC-based control protocols, VINSSEN’s equipment will be integrated into WE Tech’s system via DC-bus architecture, fully monitored and supervised by WE Tech’s proprietary hybrid and energy power management system (WE Control).
Furthermore, both parties agreed to jointly develop standardised, containerised power solutions that combine VINSSEN’s modular power packages with WE Tech’s power conversion technology. The companies will also evaluate joint cooperation on power conversion solutions for VINSSEN’s megawatt (MW)-class power generation systems.
Key Highlights of the Cooperation:
- Modular System Integration: VINSSEN’s type-approved fuel cell and battery packs integrated into WE Tech’s DC-bus and WE Control system.
- Joint Solution Development: Co-development of containerised, modular power units and technical collaboration on MW-class hydrogen power conversion.
- Cross-Regional Market Access: WE Tech facilitates European market access for VINSSEN, while VINSSEN leads customer engagements in Korea and Asia.
- Lifecycle & After-Sales Support: WE Tech provides local after-sales and lifecycle management services for joint deliveries in the European market.
Building a Synergistic Asia-Europe Network
The agreement focuses on mutual market expansion through shared project pipelines. VINSSEN will lead customer engagements in Korea and Asia, introducing WE Tech as the preferred System Integrator for power conversion, variable frequency drives, and power management. Conversely, WE Tech will facilitate VINSSEN’s entry into European newbuild and retrofit projects.
Customers in Europe will also benefit from WE Tech’s local lifecycle support capabilities for joint deliveries, providing continuity from system integration and commissioning through the operational lifetime of the solution.
Chilhan Lee, CEO of VINSSEN Co., Ltd. says, “This strategic collaboration with WE Tech, a global leader in power conversion and drive technology, marks a vital milestone for VINSSEN in expanding our type-approved hydrogen fuel cell and battery solutions into Europe. By combining our clean power systems with WE Tech’s integration expertise, we will deliver robust, zero-emission solutions for both newbuilds and retrofits.”
Henri Kinnunen, CEO of WE Tech Solutions, adds, “This partnership brings together VINSSEN’s clean power packages and WE Tech’s expertise in marine power conversion, DC-bus distribution and intelligent power management. By integrating these technologies into scalable solutions, we can provide shipowners and shipyards with practical new options for accelerating vessel electrification and reducing emissions.”
